Remote Design Lead — Data Platform UX & Research

Bixal, a Fairfax, VA-based consultancy, seeks a Design Lead to own UX research, interaction and visual design for the CMS data.CMS.gov platform. You will guide the full design lifecycle for a public data service used by 100M Americans, ensuring accessibility and a scalable design system. You will translate research into actionable artifacts, collaborate with CMS stakeholders and engineering, and present design rationale during proposals and program reviews. J-18808-Ljbffr

Design is at the heart of our user experience. You will be responsible for creating visually stunning and highly functional interfaces. We are looking for designers who are passionate about user-centric design and aren't afraid to push creative boundaries.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in UI/UX or Graphic Design.
• Mastery of design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or Sketch.
• Deep understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
• Ability to translate complex user needs into intuitive design solutions.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills to explain design choices.
• Degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is highly valued.
