Are you ready to turn your passion for technology into a force for social good? At Common App, we believe that education is the ultimate equalizer, and we are looking for a talented Software Developer to help us build the digital bridges that connect over one million students to their dream colleges every year. As a member of our mission-driven Technology team, you will do more than just write code; you will play a pivotal role in removing systemic barriers and promoting equity in higher education. This is a unique opportunity to launch your career at a national non-profit where your technical contributions directly empower first-generation students and diverse learners to forge their own paths toward a brighter future.

We are seeking a creative, collaborative, and mission-aligned developer to join our fully remote US-based team. In this role, you will work on high-impact projects that scale, innovate, and simplify the complex college admissions landscape for thousands of institutions. Whether you are debugging critical systems or architecting new features, you will be supported by a culture that values mentorship, continuous learning, and inclusivity. If you are a graduate or early-career professional who wants to tackle real-world challenges while making a tangible, positive impact on the lives of students across the country, we invite you to help us shape the next generation of access and integrity in admissions.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, JS, Java, etc.).
  • Understanding of software development life cycles and version control (Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to technical detail.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
